"Without an audience, without a circle of spectators, these jewels would never realize the purpose for which they were created. The spectator is therefore the final artist. His eyes, his heart, his mind — whether better or worse equipped to understand the purpose of the creator — give life to the jewels" - Salvador Dali

About Me
“I want to touch people with my art. I want them to say 'he feels deeply, he feels tenderly.'” - Vincent Van Gogh
I was born with an innate desire to create beautiful things with my hands that are inspired by nature and the world around me. The creativity and curiosity handed down from my mother pushed me to encounter countless arts and crafts. My current obsessive love affair with jewelry was born from a long history of art in my life from helping my mother with her ceramics in my youth, to photography in my teens, then moving onward to pencil drawings, and painting in my 20's, 30's and 40's. I even had a short episode making sculptured wood carvings with a pocket knife and carved wooden wall clocks in my early 20's.
However, it was Jewelry design which has captured my heart. Combining my love for nature and the realm of fantasy with my rich imagination just seemed a perfect fit for the need to use my hands to create. After encountering the realm of fantasy wire woven jewelry several years agao, I was fascinated by its beautiful flow, asymmetry and complexity. I started making things for family and friends, using simple techniques learned from others with materials like copper and inexpensive stones, but it soon wasn't enough and I threw myself headlong into the realm of possibilities with wire wrapped jewelry. It's flexibility in design is amazing and it is wire-wrapping which has won my heart over other types of jewelry for the past several years. Moving from copper to fine & sterling silver felt quite natural and let me truly expand my metalsmith skills while also developing my own unique style and techniques. I'm really proud of being completely self-taught in silversmithing and never really thinking any of my work is "Good enough" I am always learning and expanding my skillsets, as there is always more to grasp. Thank you for visiting my Grand World of Imagination in the realm of Fantasy Jewelry.
